Fredrick Aaron Smith

Fredrick Aaron Smith 88, passed away on July 14, 2016 at 8:20am while surrounded by his loving family. Fred was born on January 16, 1928 in Logan Utah. His parents were Aaron Fredrick Smith and Hilda Anderson Smith. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Evylin Godfrey Smith, daughter in-law Robin Smith, and sister Barbara Smith. Fred leaves behind four children (Marilyn Budovec, Fredrick Aaron Smith, Susan Smith Kidman, and Jeffrey Steven Smith), 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and his sister Elaine Belnap.
Fred attended school in Logan, Utah. In 1943 at the age of 15 Fred joined the US Navy. He was stationed in the Pacific and assigned to ship U.S.S. DE11 Crouter. After the War (WW2) he was placed on leave and then was assigned to Philippines Rehabilitation Center in the town of Los Banos. Fred was honorably discharged from the Navy and arrived home July 3, 1946.
Upon arriving home Fred went to work for Olof Nelson until 1949. Fred and Evylin were married on September 1, 1949. Fred then went to work for Studebaker until 1954 and then obtained employment with Utah Power and Light. Fred retired in 1983. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had a great love for guns.
A grave side service will be held in his honor Wednesday July 20, 2016 11:00am at the Smithfield Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
