Deweyville-Alta Mae Marble Johnson, 97, passed away March 7, 2011 in Ogden, UT. She was born February 8, 1914 to Nathaniel Peter Marble and Harriet Adelaide Loveland at Deweyville, Utah. She was raised on the family farm, attended elementary school in Deweyville, and was a graduate of Bear River High School and the L.D.S. Seminary. While at Bear River High she was a member of the band and school quartet. On May 1, 1934, she married E. Carlyle Johnson in a ceremony at the family home in Deweyville. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on September 14, 1934. To their family three children were born: Florence Mae, Robert Carlyle, and Ronald Nathaniel. With their children they resided in Deweyville, Fielding, and Tremonton. Alta was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. She worked at the Utah/Idaho Sugar Factory during World War II. Later she worked for a number of years at the Classic Shop in Tremonton. An accomplished quilter, she also enjoyed needlework, camping, fishing, and bowling for the Classic Shop Team.
She is survived by son Robert, his wife Ruth, their children Robert Swan Johnson and his son Shaine Alexander Johnson, and their daughter Rachel Dolores Johnson, all of California. She is also survived by her son Ronald, his wife Elizabeth of Riverdale, Utah, and four great-grandson's, sons of Ronald's deceased daughter Cynthia Lee Johnson Kallenbach: Nathaniel, Nicholas, Niles, and Neven. She was preceded in death by her husband, her infant daughter, Florence Mae, and Ronald's two daughters, Cynthia Lee and Suzanna Jo Johnson Phillips.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Deweyville Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton UT.
