Arlene Constance Harrison
Nov. 15, 1940 – Aug. 28, 2012
With a feeling of profound loss we announce the passing of Arlene Constance Harrison. Although she left us suddenly, she had suffered from severe health problems for years which we are all grateful she is finally freed from.
Born in Patterson, NJ, she lived in Rockford, IL and Southern California before meeting her future husband Rex in Nevada. As newlyweds in 1964 they moved to Logan where they started a family before moving to their current home of thirty-five years in Nibley. Our family was sealed together in the Logan Temple in 1979.
Arlene was a dedicated wife and mother who worked diligently at a number of jobs most of which showcased one of her greatest talents: cooking. She was especially gifted in the art of candy-making and family, friends, and neighbors looked forward to Christmastime each year when she would deliver plates of her delicious gourmet candies.
In recent years as she struggled with health issues, she enjoyed reading her cookbooks and playing several video games while resting. She loved receiving visits from her many grandchildren and doting on her beloved dog Pebbles who was a constant presence at her side.
She is preceded in death by her eldest son, Timothy Rex and her sisters, Diane and Pat. She is survived by her brother John; sister Carol; her loving husband Rex; sons Jeffrey and Adam; daughter Dawn Travis Cook; grandchildren Camron, Cody, Tyler Kylee, Timothy, Taylor, Kortnie, Connor, and Kenzie; as well as great-granddaughters Karli and newborn Khloe whom she held just a day before her passing.
Arlene was an incomparable example of generosity and was filled with love for all those that were close to her. She expressed to her family a very sincere love and appreciation in her heart for all the friends and neighbors who selflessly offered their love and assistance throughout her life. She was deeply loved by many and her humor, insight, guidance, and presence will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 12 noon in the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
