Barbara Ann Downs Jensen

December 9, 1942 — November 30, 2011

Barbara Ann Jensen Barbara Ann Jensen returned to her heavenly father on November 30, 2011 peacefully in her home. Grandma was brought into this world on December 9, 1942 by Elmo and Venice Downs in Logan, Utah. She had 2 sisters, Connie and Carolyn, and 1 brother, Lloyd. She later married Alton D. Jensen in 1961 in Nevada. They were soon joined by a daughter, Vicki, in August 20, 1962. Later, Alton and Barbara were divorced. Vicki married Rick Fonnesbeck in March of 1979 and brought into the world grandma's never ending joy, three grandchildren, Ashley 21, Kim 19 and Nicholas 16. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. You could find her going to lunch or shopping with them. Barbara enjoyed being in the presence of her family. Barbara took care of her mother til she passed in February 2007. Grandma worked for the Sunshine Terrace for 22 years where she retired at the age of 62. You could find grandma playing games with her fellow friends or watching the game shows on TV. Grandma was an Elvis Presley fan and had quite the collection. She also loved country music. Grandma was warm, sweet and caring. Her heart was full and open. She wore her heart on her sleeve. Grandma never forgot anything when it came to her family. She held everyone she loved in a very special spot in her heart. She loved and was loved in return by so many. She had an open heart and an open mind. You could tell her everything; your faults, your dreams, your worries, and she would never judge you, just listen and encourage you. She was always our biggest fan. She never missed a dance recital, a football game or a concert. Grandma was glad to be a cheerleader because that was what she loved to do the most, cheer her family on. She understood when we were sad, mad, or glad. She treated each emotion like it was gold, she cared and we knew it. Grandma never failed to tell us how she felt about us. She wouldn't go without telling us she loved us because she didn't want us to forget it. Our grandma is warm hugs and sweet memories. She remembers all of your accomplishments and forgets all of your mistakes. She is someone you can tell your secrets and worries to, And she hopes and prays that all your dreams come true. She always loves you, no matter what. She can see past temper tantrums and bad moods, And makes it clear that they don't affect how precious you are to her. She is an encouraging word and a tender touch. She is full of proud smiles. She is the one person in the world who loves you with all her heart, Who remembers the child you were and cherishes the person you've become. She was survived by her daughter, Vicki Rick Fonnesbeck of Amalga, Utah and her three grandchildren. Ashlev. Kirn and Nicholas. She was also survived by her two sisters; Carolyn Evan of South Jordan, Utah and Connie Sherwin of Hyde Park, Utah. She was greeted in heaven by her mother Venice Andrews, father Elmo Downs, and Lloyd Downs her brother.
