Beverley Beales Ward

Beverley Beales Ward, 86, long-time resident of Hyde Park, UT, passed away at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday morning, December 22, 2010. She had been at the center since February 2009. Beverley was born on August 14, 1924 in Salt Lake City, UT, oldest child of Joseph Herbert Reginald Beales and Artimesia Jensen Beales. She graduated from Granite High School in 1942 then attended college at New York University for one year. At the age of 21 she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States Mission. It was there that she met her future husband, Karl Edwin Ward. They were married on July 29, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. Following their marriage they resided for a short while in Billings, MT then in Rupert, ID before moving to Hyde Park in 1958, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Karl passed away on March 25, 1988. Beverley was known for her strength and determination, her knowledge of Gospel principles, her years of untiring service in the LDS Church, her unwavering faith in her Creator, and her independent and courageous spirit. Her greatest loves in life were the Gospel of Jesus Christ, her family, fine music, and the beautiful world in which she lived. She found great comfort and solace in these things. In addition to her husband, Beverley was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Eugene Seaich, another sister, Marian Smith John D., and a daughter-in-law, Janine Ward. She is survived by a sister, Evlyn Allen William, a brother, Landon Beales Jean, and a sister, Jeanette Holt Ed, all of whom live in Salt Lake City, UT. Beverley and Karl are the parents of five children: Karl B. Ward Kathy of Logan, UT; Preston B. Ward Janine of Hyde Park, UT; Signe W. Gardner Keith of Lorton, VA; Joel J. Ward Juleen of Hyde Park, UT; and Wendy Ward of Logan, UT. They have 24 grandchildren and 21 nearly 22 great-grandchildren. Beverley loved well and was loved well in return. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at the Hyde Park Ward Chapel 65 East Center St. at 12pm on Monday December, 27th. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:30 am at the church. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery Box Elder County. Funeral Directors: Nelson Funeral Home Logan, Utah.
