Chad Taylor Floyd

July 10, 1983 — February 17, 2013

Chad Taylor Floyd passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 surrounded by family in his home in Laketown, UT. Chad was born July 10, 1983. He was the fourth of five children born to Craig and Jane Floyd. Chad made more of his simple, difficult life than many would imagine; an everyday hero showing us the way. He served a one year LDS service mission in the Logan LDS Temple, was an Eagle Scout, and received his Associate of Science degree from Weber State University and an Honorary Bachelors of Science Degree in General Studies in Art from Utah State University. President Stan Albrecht of USU awarded Chad a Recommendation of Accommodation. Chad had a deep love for music, the Christmas Season, 4th of July and the angels around him that were his friends and leaders. Chad touched all he met through his passionate personality, warm friendly smile and contagious laughter. He showed us that a positive attitude, perseverance and dedication can be maintained through any of life's situations. His life and influence will live on through the many who experienced his life with him. He is preceded in death by his older sister, Christy. He is survived by his faithful friend and guide dog Huck, grandmother Afton Floyd, parents Craig and Jane, his older brother Preston Crystal, sister Bonnie Cory Holley, younger brother Patrick Kayla and 8 nieces and nephews. May we who have been left behind memorialize his life by living and accepting those around us regardless of their physical, emotional or spiritual state. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Nelson Mortuary, 162 East 400 North,
Logan, Utah . Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23 at 12 p.m. in the Laketown LDS Chapel, Laketown UT with a viewing from 10-11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Laketown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University of Utah Transplant Fund, 30 N 1900 E, Room AC144, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84132 or call 801-585-6462 and ask for Jaleen.
