Charlotte Pitkin Larsen Nilson

March 28, 1921 — February 8, 2011

Charlotte Larsen Nilson
Our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. She and Dad are finally together again…
Mother was born in Logan, Utah on March 28, 1921, and she lived the majority of her life in Utah. Mother was the youngest in her family – nearly 16 years younger than Marjorie her beloved sister. She joined Marjorie as a telephone operator and spent her hard earned money learning how to fly an airplane. This didn't sit well with her father Noah – but she persisted until she flew solo over Cache Valley in the summer of 1940. With the exception of the last three years as a resident of the Sunshine Terrace, she spent the last thirty years living in Providence, Utah, with her husband Mark Nilson, where they raised three sons; Jay, who married Rae Lynn Earl, Clair who married Jeena Harris, and Eric who married Jolene Garrett. Mom and Dad were married in October of 1952 – and later sealed in the Logan Temple. She existed for her three Sons, and their families and showed them kindness, devotion and unconditional selfless love her entire lifetime. By the time our Dear Mother passed, she had eleven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren – with three more en route.
Our sincere gratitude for the loving care provided to Mom, by the wonderful people on Wing One at the Sunshine Terrace. They helped make the final three years of Mom's life as pleasant and delightful as possible. A one hour viewing will be held from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, February 14, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and a private ceremony for family and close friends will be held immediately afterwards at 11 A.M. Interment will be at the Providence/River Heights Cemetery. Mom – We all love you so much and we look forward to our next reunion. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Charlotte's honor to her son Jay's favorite charity: Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town, PO Box 7000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
