Cheryl Lee Day, loving wife, mother, grandmother & friend passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010 after a valiant 6 year battle with a brain tumor at her home with family surrounding her.
She was born on February 21, 1949 the only child of Chester M. And Dolores L. Peay Call. As a child she live in Pocatello, Idaho and San Jose, California. She attended St. Joseph Elementary, graduated from Pocatello High School and attended Idaho State University for 2 years.
Cheryl married Harvey M. Day on May 25, 1970 and on May 25, 1983 turned earthly love into eternal love in the Washington D.C. Temple. Cheryl and Harvey traveled to Hawaii, Connecticut, Virginia and Washington state and raised two wonderful children as Harvey served in the U.S. Navy. They settled in Logan, Utah to raise their second love, �horses.� Cheryl enjoyed scrap booking, toll painting and genealogy work, but most of all, loved spending time with her children, their spouses and 10 treasured grandchildren. She willing served as Relief Society President, Young Women�s President and many other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cheryl gained a new prospective as she battled her �Goliaths.� The doctors remarked that it was beyond their �human� reasoning as to why she continued to walk & talk. We know that there were miracles shared for our family during the last 6 years of her life. She is survived by her caring husband, Harvey M. Day; their two children, Brandy Nicole Millward John of Morgan, Utah and Carey Michael Day Natalie of Meridian, Idaho; as well as her crowning accomplishment her ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her son, Joseph Merle Day. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on September 1, 2010 at the LDS Church on 940 West Three Point Avenue 450 So. approx. Friends may visit the family at a viewing between 6-8 PM on Tuesday evening, August 31, 2010 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah and at the church on Wednesday between 10-11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will be in the Arimo, Idaho Cemetery. Our deepest appreciation goes to the staff of IHC Hospice, for their compassionate and loving care they gave to Cheryl.
