He graduated from Logan High School in 1945 where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. He was involved in many student activities and was elected Senior
Class president. Following graduation from High School in 1945, Bud attended Utah State Agriculture College and played freshman football for the Aggies. Penny and opened up his own men's clothing store called "Bud's Duds." In Twin Falls he was a charter member of the Lions Club and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
