Dale Harrison Burt

Bear River City-Our beloved husband and father, Dale Harrison ?Stony? Burt, passed away November 13, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 7, 1929 in Tremonton, UT to Carlos Nelson and Vera Harper Burt. He lived his entire life in Bear River City and lived in the same house for his entire 82 years. He attended Box Elder High School where he was active in the FFA and participated in national judging contests. He worked on the family farm in Blue Creek at the site of now ATK. He married the only girl he had ever dated, Frances Pearl Rhees of Pleasant View, UT in the Logan LDS Temple on November 10, 1948. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He worked at Thiokol for 32 years where he worked in many areas of the plant. He was particularly proud and talked often about his work as a crane operator and later a safety trainer. It was while he worked at Thiokol ATK that he was given the name ?Stony? which he will be fondly remembered by from those he associated with. After his retirement he and Frances served in the California Oakland Mission. He is survived by his wife Frances Pearl, children: Carlos Junior Burt, Marilyn Craig Smith, Rhees Glenna Burt, Michelle Rod Mund, Blake Ann Burt and sister, Marva Rae Randle. His posterity also includes 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parent, two brothers, Wayne and Junior, sister, Billie Jean Rasmussen and great grandson Caleb Smith.
The family would like to express appreciation to the AFI Advanced Care Hospice, especially to Kathy, Brenda, Kelley and Dr. John Markeson and Michelle. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bear River LDS Chapel, 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City. Friends may call at the Church Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow in the Brigham City Cemetery. The family suggests donations to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
