Darlene Speth passed away surrounded by family & friends on Wed February 3rd, 2010 in Ogden, UT, after an extended battle with cancer.
She was born to Carl & Edith Speth in College Ward, UT May 29, 1935. She was raised in Young Ward, UT where she spent her childhood & adult life.
She enjoyed working, having several jobs during her lifetime. She started working as a young woman for Utah Concrete Pipe, and worked at Wurlitzer, Weather Shield, and Icon as a secretary and purchaser throughout the years. Darlene never married, but had many nieces and nephews that she loved. When her parents got older she helped prepare all the Christmas gifts for the family. She enjoyed making crafts, Family History Scrapbooking and collections of poetry & thoughts from LDS leaders. During her younger years she helped her Dad and Brother hauling hay on the farm. She helped her nephews with 4-H cattle projects.
She enjoyed a bowling league with friends. She enjoyed traveling with friends & family, loved parties, family get-togethers, and flowers & gardening.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she went to the Temple after the encouragement of a good friend & recent convert to the church. She is survived by her sister Margene and George Sant, Kenneth and Beth Speth; 12 Nieces and Nephews and their families. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at the Young Ward chapel, 2394 West 2200 South, Young Ward, UT. Friends may call at Nelson Funeral Home at 162 E. 400 N. in Logan on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Young Ward chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . Donations may be donated to any Cancer Research.
