Deon Kay Anderson Green

Deon Kay Anderson Green returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 05, 2011 at her home in Providence, Utah. Deon was born July 14, 1940 in Logan, Utah to Eugene Earl and Emma Krebs Anderson. As a child, Deon lived in Logan, North Logan and settled with her parents and siblings in Providence, Utah. Deon attended school at Providence Elementary and later at South Cache High School. Deon married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Wyatt Green of Wellsville, Utah, on January 14, 1956 in Preston, Idaho. The couple was sealed in the Logan Temple on January 14, 1957.
Following their wedding, Deon and Gerald lived in Wellsville, Utah. Later, after Gerald joined the Air Force, the couple moved near Chanute Air Force Base, in Rantoul, Illinois where their son, Randall Randy was born in June, 1957. Gerald's military service took the family across the country to Merced, California where their daughter, Kelly was born in June, 1958. After Gerald's service with the military was completed, the young family had an adventurous journey back to Cache Valley, settling in Providence.
Deon was a dedicated worker, always willing to do whatever was needed to help provide for her family. She was employed in various places, including many years as a partner at the JoyDee Child Day Care Center, a clerk at the Hollywood Connection, secretary at David B. Allen State Farm Insurance, and as the Office Manager at Eye Care/Optical Shop, in Logan. Where ever Deon was, everyone knew she could be counted on for her talented memory recall and friendly spirit.
Deon was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She especially looked forward to the support and friendly visits from fellow members. Deon loved many things in life. She enjoyed creating things with her hands; either through knitting, or tole painting, or cooking. She was an avid reader. Deon loved her family and one of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who also treasured their time with her. "Nonnie, we love and miss you."
Deon is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Gerald, children Randall G. Green Janet of Chilicothe, Ohio, and Kelly T. Green of Clearfield, Utah; grandchildren, Emerald J. Green Dayne Teigeler of Logan, Utah, Jeremy B. Green Jennifer of Bountiful, Utah, Whitney J. Green of Austin, Texas, and Tyrin J. Brown of Clearfield, Utah; great-grandchildren are Piper Lynn Green Teigeler, Morgana Faye Green Peacock, Rowan Seth Green Teigeler, AnkArijuna Ari Lucient Green, and Saidji Nascha Green; siblings Maree Campbell Steven of Centerville, Utah, Laree Petersen Bruce of Layton, Utah, Earlene Blaser Stephen of Bountiful, Utah, Eugene Anderson Catherine of Centerville, Utah, Sharlene Murri Steven of Hyde Park, Utah, as well as many nieces and nephews. Deon was preceded in death by parents, Eugene Earl and Emma Krebs Anderson, and an infant daughter.
A viewing will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E 400 N Logan, from 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Providence Ward Chapel, 309 S Main in Providence; funeral service to commence at Noon. Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery, 400 N 200 E Wellsville. All are invited to attend. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Alpine Home Care & Hospice, especially the RNs and nurse's aides, and the many others who have shown such loving care for Deon and support for Gerald.
