Dora Theresa Rush Sanders

November 20, 1941 — November 5, 2013

Dora Theresa Rush Sanders- born 11/20/41- passed away on November 5, 2013, at her home in Logan, Utah, after a five year courageous battle against cancer. Theresa was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and spent most of her growing up years in Lima, Montana, with her mother, four sisters and one brother. When she was 7 years old, she lost her father to an accident on the railroad.
After graduating from high school in Lima, Montana, she attended Brigham Young University from 1960-1963. She married Larry Ervil Sanders from LaVerkin, Utah, in June of 1963 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They raised their family in Montana, Hudson Hope, BC, Canada, Bear Lake, Idaho, Snowville, Utah, and Ririe, Idaho, and then settled into retirement in Logan, Utah.
Theresa was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many church callings. Two sons, one daughter, and one grandson have served LDS missions, and one grandson is currently serving. Her family and the gospel have always been her strength and foundation.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson. She is survived by her husband, Larry Ervil Sanders, and their eight children: La Resa Darrington Scott Yerington, NV, Jerald Larry Sanders Analeica Kennewick, WA, LeeAnn Herrick Garn Ammon, ID, Sarah Jean Moss Dave Fr. Greely, AK, Jackie Power Bob Providence, UT, Cary Ervil Sanders Melanie Brigham City, UT, Doralee Wells Steve Dietrich, ID, and Ryan Jack Sanders, Logan, UT. She is also survived by her sisters, Darlene Sullivan, Bozeman, MT, Josephine Goodridge, Billings, MT, Sidona Burgess, California, Jeanene Pope, Butte, MT, and one brother, Martin Hyrum Rush, Rexburg, ID. At the time of her death, she had 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013, at the LDS chapel at 350 W 700 S in Logan, Utah with a viewing prior from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nelson Funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Intermountain Cancer Center, Dr. Ben Jacob, the staff of the Intermountain Homecare and Hospice center and the Relief Society sisters of the Logan 32nd ward for all of their care, kindness and comfort during this long battle.
