Douglas Earl Hunsaker

June 3, 1957 — November 27, 2013

Kuna, Idaho – Douglas Earl Hunsaker, 56, died November 27, 2013 in Meridian St. Luke's Hospital from complications of Myelodisplastic Syndrome. He was born on June 3, 1957 to Delano Dean and Marion Gibbons Hunsaker, in Logan, Utah.
He graduated from Logan High and served an LDS mission in Minnesota, St. Paul Mission. . He married Julie Winward on October 5, 1979. He then received his Bachelors in Social Work from USU and more recently his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Doug loved working with kids whether it was teaching at school or at Sunday School or in Scouts. He loved his law enforcement career at Cache County Sheriff's Office, Audlt Probation Parole. At the time of his death, he was a case manager at a substance abuse counseling center in Kuna, Idaho. He is survived by his wife and five children, Heidi Kolbe Launchbaugh, Jeff, Jordan, Miles, and Mari Lyn Skyler Barrus. Grandchildren, Felicity and two on the way. He is also survived by his parents and siblings, Deon, Donna, Debbie, Danny, Darcie, Denise, and Darren and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at the Smithfield Stake Center, 120 South 600 East. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund at Zion's Bank. Online condolences for the family can be sent to www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
