Dwain Stuart Archibald

Bear River City ? Dwain Stuart Archibald, 59, passed away into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Willow Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brigham City, UT. He was born February 27, 1952 in Brigham City, UT to Doyle Clair and Arva LuElla Dallin Archibald.
Dwain struggled most of his life with physical disabilities which became serious in recent years and spent several years in nursing and rehab centers. He graduated from Box Elder High School and 4 years from LDS Seminary in May of 1970 and attended a summer vocational improvement program in Logan. Dwain assisted in the custodial care at several different schools in Brigham City and Bear River City.
Dwain loved to go fishing and camping with his dad and family. He enjoyed making afghan?s and gave many to others. He really loved baseball and kept the visual scoreboard for Bear River City?s little league games. He was a great fan of the Utah Jazz and followed their games on T.V.
Dwain worked for the IRS Service Center in Ogden for nearly 18 years in the Receiving branch. He was a very dedicated and loyal employee. His fellow employees and supervisors where some of his greatest friends; all who knew him loved and appreciated him. He really loved all people he came in contact with.
Dwain was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he was 14 years old he began to go home teaching with John Holmgren and did so for 14 years. He was very dedicated in fulfilling his calling.
He is survived by his loving Mother, Arva, who dedicated her life to caring for him; his brother Spencer Janice Archibald, Brigham City & Alaska; sister Joy Richard Nelson, Bear River City; and many nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle; his sister, Susan Farnsworth and 2 nephews.
Dwain and his family express thanks and appreciation to the staff and his friends at Willow Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation who took great care of him and were his special friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bear River City LDS Chapel, 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City. Family and Friends may call Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Thursday from 9:30-10:40 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Interment will follow in the Bear River City Cemetery.
