College Ward, Utah- Edwin Wesley Nelson, 74, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Legacy House Assisted Living. He was born February 15, 1940, in Logan, Utah, the son of Joseph Wesley and Martha Stender Nelson. Ed grew up in College Ward and attended South Cache High School where he enjoyed playing on their baseball and basketball teams. He served in the Great Lakes Mission for the LDS church. Ed married Jeanette Blotter on March 9, 1962 in the Logan LDS temple. They were later divorced. He graduated from USU with a degree in accounting. Ed was an accountant for Desert Gym, Jim Whitten Buick, Thiokol, and the LDS church. He enjoyed fishing, puzzles, playing ball, watching his grandchildren play sports, going to USU ball games, and working on the family farm. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Mike Woodward of Brigham City; son Jed Jenny Nelson of North Ogden; son Jeremy Nelson of Layton; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Gladys Nelson and six brothers and sisters: Reed Nelson, Harvard Nelson, Ethel Zollinger, Myrle Bingham, Vera Later, and Barbara Leffler. There will be a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. The funeral services will follow beginning at noon. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Legacy House Assisted Living for their loving care.
