Eliot Alma Hampton

February 19, 1967 — December 31, 2015

Eliot Alma Hampton was born February 19, 1967 in Preston, Idaho, the son of Alan Dee and Tamra Hawkes Hampton.
Eliot passed away December 31, 2015 at his home in Logan, Utah, after a hard fought battle to survive the aftermath of a massive heart attack which occurred February 1, 2015. The attack left him with only 25% of his heart functioning and very little strength. Eliot never gave up however and for 11 months in spite of excruciating pain he remained optimistic about a recovery.
Eliot was involved in an industrial accident 18 years ago falling 40 feet, his fall crushed both ankles and damaged his lower back so severely that he was never again without pain, but in spite of his broken physical condition Eliot continued to work and support his family until the time of his heart attack which rendered him totally disabled.
Eliot graduated from Preston High School with the class of 1985. He was active in sports and Jazz Band as their drummer. Eliot had the lead male role in the high school opera “The Sound Of Music” where he played the part of “Captain Von Trapp” in 1984. Then in the 1985 opera Eliot played the part of Harold Hill in Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man”.
Eliot also attended Utah State University.
In January 1986 Eliot was called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 2 years in the Ecuador Guayaquil Mission in South America. After his mission Eliot worked various jobs both in the USA, Mexico, and South America.
In 1995 Eliot met and married Lucia D Esparza Yebra. Eliot and Lucia were married August 8, 1995 in Mexico, and a year later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on August 12, 1996. From this union 2 children were born, a son, Wystan, who is currently serving a 2 year mission in the San Diego, California Spanish Speaking Mission, and a beautiful daughter, Kaylee who is a senior at Logan High School, and a cheerleader.
Eliot and Lucia were recently divorced after 20 years of marriage. Eliot’s last employer was Wyndom Resorts, Inc.
Eliot is survived by his father of Fairview, Idaho and by his mother of Preston, Idaho. Also by his siblings, Eric Hampton, Honeyville, Utah; Alice King, Fairview, Idaho; Aaron Hampton, Austin, Colorado; Kamaron Hampton, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; and Jennifer Lyn Poulton, Tremonton, Utah and their spouses.
