Elizabeth Campbell Brown

August 24, 1935 — July 26, 2014

Providence, UT. Elizabeth Campbell Brown passed away Saturday July 26th in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Medical Center due to a hemorrhagic stroke. She was a lifetime resident of Providence, UT. Elizabeth was born to Kenneth R. and Venna Chugg Campbell. She was the last of three children born to these wonderful parents. She attended school in Providence and graduated from South Cache High School and LDS Seminary. While in high school she enjoyed participating on the cheer squad, volleyball and other sports. She had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed many hikes in our local mountains with close friends. Elizabeth was fortunate to meet the love of her life while in school, E. LeRoy Brown. They were later married in the Logan Temple on July 22, 1954. The young couple lived in Logan while Roy attended school and worked in the family business with his father. Elizabeth worked for the phone company until they started their family. Kevin Roy, Lisa Ann, David Lee and Mary Jo were the life and love of Elizabeth and Roy. The family moved to Providence and built a new home which Elizabeth lived in until her passing. She kept busy raising a growing family and serving faithfully in the LDS Church. She loved attending meetings, serving in numerous callings including Relief Society President, Primary teacher, Sunday school teacher and many other responsibilities which she always accepted. She worked for many years in the Logan Temple while keeping her other callings at the same time.
Elizabeth loved her pioneer ancestry and was a proud member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She helped in many ways and served in her camp well. She was proud of the fact her ancestors were some of the first to settle Providence and help shape Cache Valley. Elizabeth was a gifted and talented singer. She sang in many Ward Choirs and joined the Northern Utah Coral Society which later became the American Festival Choir under the direction of Craig Jessop. She traveled to several countries in South America, Eastern Europe including Russia, England, France Germany, Austria, New Zealand and Australia. She loved singing at home the most and enjoyed the concerts given by the choir. Elizabeth was blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Spending time with her grandkids was one of her most cherished things to do. She loved them all dearly and she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband E. LeRoy Brown, her parents, her brother Kay Campbell and her sister, Cloma Maxwell. She is survived by her children Kevin Roy Brenda Brown, Nibley, Lisa Ann Bruce Miller, Mendon, David Lee Elke Brown Hyrum, and Mary Jo Roger Dahle Providence. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff and Doctors at the University of Utah Medical Center, the Palliative care nurses, and the Neuroscience Department team. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 1 from 6-8pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan UT, and from 10:30-11:30am on August 2 at the Providence 3rd Ward Chapel, 355 Canyon Road in Providence UT.
