It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Emily Jannette Wright. Emily was killed in a tragic accident on the evening of Wednesday, July 8, 2015, leaving us much too soon, 9 days after her seventeenth birthday.
Emily was born June 29, 1998 in Logan, Utah, the firstborn child of Randall and Stacie (Sneddon) Wright. She spent her life surrounded by the stunning mountains of Cache Valley, Utah. It was in this setting that her love for the outdoors began. Camping, hiking, playing, swimming, sledding, skiing, climbing, rafting, running, dancing--she loved to breathe in the beauty of life all around her. Her passion was palpable. Those left behind are gifted with the distinct memory of her laugh because she gave it away so often and without reserve.
An avid runner, Emily also sprinted through life; she never did anything half-way. She was looking forward to her senior year at Mountain Crest High School and running the Top of Utah Marathon in September. Her friends knew her as loyal, fun-loving, giving, concerned about others, and absolutely fearless; she lit up every room she ever entered. Besides her incredible passion, she also had a tender heart and a special love for little children.
Emily was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We, Emily’s family, know that God lives! We find comfort in His plan and the knowledge that we will see Emily again.
Emily was part of a big, loving family, including her parents, Stacie and Randy Wright; little sisters: Brooklyn, Lydia, and Madalyn; grandparents: Jeff and Jannette Wright and Louis and Victoria Sneddon.
Emily had a way of drawing others close and, because of this, had many dear, sweet friends. Special thanks to the communities of Mendon and Cache Valley for the love they had for Emily and continue to pour out upon the family.
The viewing will be held on Friday, July 17 from 6-8 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, UT. and on Saturday at the Church prior to services from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 10:00 am at the Mendon Stake Center, 460 South 100 East, Mendon, UT, followed by her burial at Mendon Cemetery.
