Eugene Joseph Powers Jr.

EUGENE JOSEPH POWERS JR. Ed, 62, passed away on Aug 19th, 2012 in the Cache Valley Specialty Hospital in Logan, Utah. Ed was born on Dec. 30, 1949 in Geneva, IL, to Eugene Joseph deceased and Pauline Powers of San Pedro, CA. Ed graduated from San Pedro High School, California State University Dominguez Hills and received his Master's Degree in Business at Pepperdine University. Ed served in the US Navy Reserve. Ed worked for Tropicana; Guess Jeans and taught at Santa Ana College. He was President of the San Pedro Toast Masters. He loved to play tennis and ski, serving in the Presidency for the South Bay Ski Club. Ed married Kathryn Smith Power and is survived by his wife. He has a son, Brendan Patrick Powers. His sister, Sandra Powers, is deceased. Cleo Smith, mother-in-law, Newton, UT. Ed joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved being with the Primary and was the secretary of his High Priest's Quorum for several years. Ed was a kind and wonderful person and Heavenly Father wanted him home with Him. Graveside services are being arranged by Nelson Funeral Home. Services will be on Sat., Aug.25th, at 12:00 noon at the Newton, UT Cemetery.
