Faye Thompson Godfrey

Faye Thompson Godfrey, passed away at Logan Regional Hospital unexpectedly on November 20th, 2014, after attending the wedding of her youngest grandson. Faye was born October 23rd, 1922 in Clarkston, Utah to Kenneth and Peru Jardine Thompson. She was the second of six children. Three brothers and two sisters, all of whom she is survived by. They were the best of friends, she had a special love for each of them and their spouses. She attended grade school in Clarkston, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah. She worked in Ogden, Utah for a short while and then married her sweetheart of 70 years, Verl W. Godfrey in the Logan Temple on July 10th, 1941 to this union were born, six children- Clinton Diane Godfrey, Maxine Stephen Keller, Helen Wayne Cooper, Mary, Margie, Brent Jill Godfrey. Faye was a housewife by choice her whole married life, she was an excellent homemaker, neat, clean and a great cook. She made especially wonderful pies and holiday candies. She loved Clarkston and being in her home, and did so until the day she passed away. She served in many church capacities; Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society. She with her husband served a mission in Tallahassee, Florida. They also served in the Logan Temple as officiators for several years making many lasting friendships. She loved her family, friends, and extended family members. She is survived by her children, their spouses, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many ward members who loved her so very much. She was preceded in death by her husband Verl W. Godfrey, Parents, Daughter Margie, son-in-law Richard J. Goodsell, two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law. A Viewing will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield, Utah, 85 South Main Street, on Tuesday November 25th, from 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, at noon in the Clarkston 2nd Ward Chapel in Clarkston, Utah, with a viewing from 1O:30-11:30 am. Interment will be in the Clarkston Cemetery.
