Frances Pearl Rhees Burt

Bear River City-Frances Pearl "Pert" Burt was reunited with her husband on December 5, 2011. Her heart was broken three weeks ago when her husband Dale passed away. They had never spent time away from each other and so are now once again reunited.
She was born to Reuben George Rhees and Frances May Cragun in Pleasant View Utah on February 14, 1929. She was only a few days old when her mother passed away. She attended elementary school in Pleasant View and high school at Weber High School where she played the cornet with two other girls. They traveled throughout the valley performing. Her father married Thelma Ward and she became the only mother that Frances knew.
She spent her teenage years at Crystal Springs in Honeyville, Utah to work for her uncle who owned the springs. This is where she met her one and only love, Dale Harrison Burt. She attended nursing school at the Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden until her marriage to Dale on November 10, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved into the Burt family home in Honeyville where they lived until their deaths. Frances worked at the Cooley Memorial Hospital as a scrub nurse. She then continued her education learning shorthand and typing skills and became a secretary at Thiokol Chemical. After leaving Thiokol she became a secretary for the Box Elder School District where she worked until her retirement. She and Dale served a mission in the California Oakland mission as service missionaries. Dale and Frances were known throughout the county for there beautiful yard and flower gardens. She loved her five children: Carlos Junior, Marilyn Craig Smith, Dale Rhees Glenna Burt, Michelle Rod Mund and Blake Thomas Ann Burt. They gave her a beautiful posterity of 16 grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Her children survive her as well as five siblings Connie Ward, Reuben "Butch" Rhees, Ranae Linford, Geniel VanKampen and Raymond Rhees. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Dale and a great-grandson Caleb. The family would like to express appreciation to the AFI Advanced Care Hospice, especially Brenda and Kathy for their loving care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Bear River City Chapel, 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City. Friends may call at the Bear River City Chapel Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The internment will follow in the Brigham City Cemetery. The family suggests donations to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.
