Ila Harris Plowman

Garland/Logan – Ila Kidman Harris Plowman, 90, passed away peacefully June 17, 2011 at the Pioneer Valley Lodge where she has resided for the last 7 years. She was born August 2, 1920 in Petersboro, Utah to William F. and Ida Callister Kidman. She attended South Cache High School. She married Donald Joseph Harris, April 3, 1940, in Logan, UT, and were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple March 30, 1951. They are the parents of six children. Don passed away April 1, 1974. She married Lowell Plowman of Smithfield May 4, 1979 and resided in Smithfield until shortly after Lowell's passing, July 2, 1985. She was a lifelong resident of Garland, an active member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in the Relief Society and Library. Ila and Lowell served an LDS mission to Indianapolis, Indiana. She worked for Laubs Market, Dr. Jack Johnson, the I.R.S. and worked campaigns at the U. & I Sugar Company.
She is survived by; Darwin Annette Harris, North Logan, Bill Judy Harris, Portage, Linda Michael Nye, St. Anthony ID; Jerry Bonnie Harris, Gary Diana Harris, Robert Joellyn Harris all of Tremonton. Step Children include: Marilyn Dexter Sanders, Fairfield, CA, Brent Kathy Plowman, Bountiful, UT; Brother in-law Howard Jensen, North Ogden, and Sister in-law Bessie Kidman, Logan, UT.
Ila is survived by 41 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings, Olive Jones, Donald, Leland, Boyd, Frieda Gibbs and Elaine Jensen, 1 grandson, Jace Harris, 1 great grandson Jason Walton and 1 great granddaughter Amelia Harris.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday June 24, 2011, at Garland 4/5th ward chapel, 175 South Main, Garland, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday June 23, 2011 Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, 6-8 pm, and prior to services 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Garland City Cemetery.
