Rae Elder, born March 14, 1938 – died September 4, 2017 age 79. She lived in Logan Utah for the last 45 years and peacefully passed away in her sleep at home. Father, Herbert L Gibbons and Mother, Iris Janes. She married Dale Blackburn and later divorced, remarried in 1973 to Doral Elder and was married til her death.
Rae graduated from Logan High and also earned her Seminary Pin. Rae enjoyed her family most of all. She loved to have family parties and spent lots of time with her grandchildren. She loved to cook and paint ceramics. You could find Rae dressed to the hilt in the latest fashion for she loved to look her best and enjoyed shopping for her home and others. In her past time she loved attending country western music concerts and going to the movies. She spent lots of time with her sisters and her mother. Rae’s heart was a giving one and you knew you were loved by her.
Preceded in death by her father, mother, sisters: Gayle Gibbons, Carol Garr, and daughter-in-law Kay Blackburn.
Survived by Husband, Doral Elder, sons, Terry Blackburn, Gary Blackburn (Ericka), three grandchildren, Jaydee, Joshua (Sarah) and Sarah; one great grandchild Alex. Three sisters: Barbara Ann Hoyle, Linda (Glen Hudson), Debra (Paul Johnson) and a brother-in-law, Russ Garr.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com
