James Felsted

March 13, 1928 — August 24, 2010

James Arthur Felsted, son of Arthur Aaron Felsted and Ruby Louise Stayner passed away on August 24, 2010. Dad was born in Garland, Utah on March 13, 1928. He was sealed to his eternal companion, Arlene Dance in the Logan Temple on May 13, 1956. He graduated from Bear River High School and from Utah State University. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army, a veteran of the Korean War, and served in Panama for two years. He was a Personnel Director for Thiokol, a Director of the Ogden Community Action Program, and worked in the Human Services Department of the State of Utah. He was a member of the Mt. Ogden Ward, a member of the High Priests' Quorum, and an excellent home teacher. He also served as an Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple. He loved jazz music. He played the drums and trumpet during high school and college and played in several jazz bands. He is known for his sense of humor. He had a joke for almost every occasion. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was an example of love, compassion, and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, his sister, Helen McGregor, three children -- Stephen Patricia Felsted , Wallace Deborah Felsted, and Nancy Steven Davis, twelve grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Some of his most enjoyable hours were spent at his farm in Fielding, Utah, working on old trucks and tractors. He leaves behind a legacy of love for the people in Ogden and in the Bear River Valley. All services will be held at the Mt. Ogden Ward, 1314 27th Street, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday August 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 28th at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment following the funeral will be at the Fielding, Utah cemetery.
The family requests that donations are made to Primary Children's Medical Center in lieu of flowers. We thank the loving care givers at Wasatch Care Center and Cymbii Hospice.
