John Jennings Empey

July 3, 1963 — May 10, 2009

Tremonton/Ogden: Beloved son of John A. and Carol Strebel Empey.
John married Linda Burns, together they had three beautiful children that he loved dearly. They later divorced. He then met Joanne O'dell together they had a beautiful daughter, Katrina. They later separated but remained friends. He then married Patsy Anderson. They later divorced but remained best friends and soul mates.
John loved to spend time with his family in the mountains playing guitar around the camp fire. He had a natural talent in music and could play any instrument without lessons and was a genius at everything he did and could fix anything except himself.
He is survived by his parents, his children: Tyson Tina, Brian, Kimber Mills and Katrina Empey, and a beautiful granddaughter, Brooklyn Mills. He is also survived by sisters: Shellie Empey, Sheila Brad Michalak, Tracie Heinze, Shawna Lynn Spencer; brothers: Richard Jamie Empey, Izak and Roman Howard; half brothers: John R. and Rick Sandberg, Scott Cindy Berntsen and many nieces and nephews that looked up to him, too many relatives to name and a special friend, Eldon Thompson.
John had a heart of gold, but many health problems that he could not overcome. His wish was to get well enough to talk to teenage children at local high schools to tell them about the pain and sorrows that addiction can cause. For John, it was too late. His over-prescribed drug addiction got to him before he could achieve his goals.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to help offset funeral costs.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 2:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
