June LaPriel Schumann
1923-2011 June LaPriel Schumann, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother peacefully entered the presence of our Heavenly Father and into the arms of her husband, parents, and loved ones on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the age of 87. LaPriel was born in Preston, Franklin County, Idaho on June 6, 1923. She was raised in the home of Yeppa Lund and Catherine Daines Lund. LaPriel was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Central High School in Washington, DC and then later attended Utah State University. After high school, June worked in several Civil Service departments, including the Patent Office, War Department, and the FBI. LaPriel married and was sealed to her beloved eternal companion, Henry Merrill Schumann, on May 22, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. During her life she had the opportunity to serve in several LDS missions: Western Canadian Mission, Owyhee Nevada Indian Mission, LDS Tabernacle Family History Mission, and in the Logan Temple Baptistry. She also loved serving in many LDS church callings throughout her life. She was a loving and wonderful mother to 10 children, grandmother to 38 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 54 great-grandchildren. LaPriel is survived by her 10 children: Danna May Gene Montgomery, Kayleen Dennis Hunsaker, Edamarie Perry Walker, Denice David Weatherspoon, Darl Sherri Schumann, ElRay Christy Schumann, Joseph Tracey Schumann, Karla Ariel Torres, Caralee W.O. Place, and Lorenzo Michelle Schumann. LaPriel is also survived by family members, Howard L. Lund, Y. Daines Lund, and Karren Stucki. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Merrill Schumann, brothers Russell Lund, Kenneth Lund, and Robert Lund, and sister, Wildene Howells. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Lewiston 1st Ward Chapel 10 South 1600 West . Friends may call Friday evening at Nelson Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:30-10:30. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. The Schumann family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who have cared for and helped LaPriel during the past several years, especially PrimRose Home Care and Hospice. Their kindness and care is deeply appreciated.
