Keith W Hatch

LOGAN - Keith W Hatch, 80, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Keith was born Sept. 12, 1931 in Oxford, Idaho to Thompson and Marie Lillian Wayment Hatch. He grew up on his parents' farm in Oxford, Idaho and attended schools in Oxford, Downy, and Clifton, Idaho. He graduated from West Side High School and served an LDS mission in the Western States Mission. While on his mission he received a call to serve his country in the Army where he served after his mission was completed. He married Leone Katherine Atterberry September 27, 1954 in the Logan Temple. He graduated from Weber State University with an Associate's Degree and graduated Utah State University Phi Kappa Phi with his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. He worked for John Deere for 8 years and then he was asked to teach at USU. He was awarded Professor of the Year for the entire Utah State University, Professor of the year in the College of Agriculture, and received the Robins Award during that time. Keith retired in 1990 and served another mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with his wife in the India, Bangalore Mission. Keith served in many church callings such as Stake Mission President, Bishop, and on the Stake High Council. He is survived by his wife, Leone, and 5 children: Cynthia Aaron Price, Royce Maureen, Kelly KayDawn, Adrian Cyndi, and Dorian Jamie, 27 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, brothers: Orin Gwen, Steven Darla, and sister Arlene Delbert Holden. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cherylee, and 2 grandchildren, April & Joshua Hatch. In lieu of flowers, please make donations for a USU Scholarship in Keith Hatch's name to the Associate Applied Science in the Agricultural Systems Technology and Education Program. The family would like to thank Integrity Home Health & Hospice and Heart & Hands at Pioneer Valley Lodge for Leone's Support and Keith's care. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E 400 N, Logan, UT. Funeral Services will be Monday, January 2, 2012 at Logan 4th Ward, 294 N 100 E, Logan, at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in the Oxford, ID cemetery with military honors.
