Gordon died peacefully and unexpectedly November 3, 2013. He was born in Richmond on February 12, 1940, a son of Holger and Veda Sanders.
He married Karen Moosman on August 12, 1960. They had four children.
Gordon loved farming and working with honeybees. He always worked 2 or 3 jobs including Pepperidge Farm for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter Terry Jeff Nelson, Elko, Nevada, son, Dale Sanders, Cove, Utah; daughter Leslie Wayne VanOrden, Fairview, Idaho; daughter in law, Deanna Olano, Cascade, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: Holger J., Ucon, Idaho; Richard M. Barbara, Sunset, Utah; Val E. Peggy, Paradise, Utah and Lennis H. Wendy, Richmond, Utah and two sisters, Mary Lee Lewis Pitcher, Smithfield, Utah and Lyn Marlin Hoth, Providence, Utah. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald G. Sanders; brother, William Jay Sanders and his parents.
The family would like to express their special gratitude to the Richmond 4th Ward family of friends and to the staffs and caregivers at Senior Care and AFI Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 12 noon in the Richmond 4th Ward Chapel, 150 South 100 East. Friends may call Friday evening at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Richmond City Cemetery.
