Kevin Paul Campbell 33 years old, passed away on November 1, 2011 due to
health complications Born April 3, 1978 in Tremonton, Utah.
His parents are Bruce and Kayleen Campbell Kevin grew up in Juniper, Idaho where he had many fond memories working on the church farm hauling wheat off the fields during the harvest. He worked on the Juniper dairy hauling hay and he also helped out with the family farm. He loved to play basketball and was a big fan of the Utah Jazz and even attended Jazz basketball camps as a youth.
He had a library of knowledge about Utah Jazz & NBA stats, including the stats of each player, and each player's background; team stats and team rankings. He loved to attend the Utah Jazz basketball games whenever he could, it was one of his favorite things to attend. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Santa Rosa,
California. After his mission he lived in Winnemucca, Nevada for several years and then recently moved with his family to Smithfield, Utah.
Kevin was a faithful member and home teacher in the church. He had a deep love for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the scriptures. He spent extra time indulging in church history, more specifically the biographies of church leaders and amazed us all with his knowledge. He also enjoyed reading about his own ancestors and found strength in their examples of righteous living. He also had a great interest in reading about prominent men in history. Kevin had a big heart and was always kind and friendly to everyone around him. He had a great love for his nieces and nephew and they always looked up to him and were always excited to have 'play time' with Uncle Kevin. Kevin is survived by his parents Bruce and Kayleen, grandparents Roger and Barbara Stephens, grandmother Rosalie Campbell, four siblings Roger Kamala, James JaNae, Jacob, Julie Daniel Clark, nieces Elvis, Rachel, Esther, Sarah, and nephew Brayden. Preceded in death by H. Sanford Campbell and nephew Ethan James Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Smithfield South Stake Center, 451 South 250 East. There will be a viewing at the Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main Street in Smithfield from 6-8 p.m. and at the Smithfield South Stake Center on Saturday from 11-12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery.
