Kristin Lynn Petersen

December 13, 1988 — July 15, 2016

Our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt and friend, Kristin Lynn Petersen, of Logan, Utah, passed away at home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 15, 2016. She was 27 years old. Those that got the chance to meet Kristin knew how contagious her smile and laugh were, how funny and outgoing she was, and knew how much happiness and joy she brought to those around her. She attended schools in Cache Valley and Pocatello and obtained her GED while living in Salt Lake City. She was a magnificent artist and loved to draw and kept a journal of many of her drawings. She loved the outdoors and any adventure involving camping, the sand or the snow. She enjoyed snowmobiling, snowboarding, camping and spending time at the beach. Kristin was very happy any place that had water since she loved to swim.Kristin always had a soft spot in her heart for stray cats. She was known for her practice of bringing stray cats into her home and making them wonderful pets. Kristin loved "Callie cat," a squish-face, grumpy-looking, fluffy, sometimes-cuddly ball of fur that cherished Kristin. She adored her nieces and nephews, taking them swimming, playing games and hanging out with them. Her nieces and nephews really enjoyed their time with Kristin and didn't see their time together so much as babysitting but "play time" with their favorite aunt. Kristin was most recently a bartender at Club 90 in Salt Lake City. She was a very accomplished bartender and used her great creativity to create and concoct many enjoyable drinks for her customers. While at work Kristin was a shining light and was able to get people to dance and have a great time. One of her favorite things to do at work was to dance to songs, especially the "Cupid Shuffle," which she was able to use to get people on the dance floor and really enjoy themselves. Kristin had also spent time working as a secretary at Rocky Mountain Stone Products, where she did a fabulous job of maintaining and organizing the operations of the engineering staff. As a teenager, Kristin also worked at Cold Stone Creamery, serving ice cream and delighting customers with songs if they were to donate money for tips. From the time she was able to walk, Kristin danced with the Millerettes and Vadels in Logan, Utah. Kristin very much enjoyed her time dancing and was very accomplished in the dances of lyrical, ballet, hip-hop and jazz.Kristin enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and vacations with her friends and family. While on trips, Kristin had the ability to see each hotel bed not as a place for sleeping, but as a great place to bounce. She was outgoing and friendly, and she made friends wherever she was. She always wanted to include everyone in activities and to share in the fun. While living in Salt Lake City she had many roommates and close friends that she enjoyed being with and going and doing things together. In particular she was very fond of Vic Gamble and Teresa Bosh. Kristin had been in a relationship with Terry Campbell for the past several years. Kristin and her younger brother, Kolton had a very special bond and enjoyed doing many different activities together. They shared a common sense of humor and were able to relate to each other in a special and endearing way. Kristin is survived by her mother, Stacy Shelton; father, Tom Petersen; siblings, Kami Petersen, Kasey Petersen, Kolton Petersen; nieces, Brinkley Summers, Presley Summers; nephew, Bentley Stahle; grandparents, Marilyn Brown and Lois Petersen. She was preceded in death by grandfather Roger Petersen, Calvin Pehrson, Bob Maughan, great-grandfather Merrill Burrell and great-grandmother Dora Burrell.A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Nelson Funeral Home in Logan, Utah.
