Lois Evalyn Melville Maxfield

Tremonton/Delta, UT � Lois Evalyn Melville Maxfield, 95, was born May 11, 1915 in Shelley Idaho to John Harvey and Theodocia Chipman Shelley Melville. She passed away at home, January 5, 2011 in Tremonton, UT. Lois grew up and was educated in Bountiful and Delta and graduated from Delta High School. She married Leigh R. Maxfield October 20, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Lois was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and volunteered at the Delta Museum. She enjoyed re-finishing furniture and was an avid reader and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Relief Society President, Primary President and in all of the auxiliaries of the church. She also served for 6 years as a Temple Officiator at the Manti LDS Temple. She is survived by her children: Dawana Eldon Poulsen, Las Vegas, NV, Ray Judy Maxfield, Twin Falls, ID, M. M. Pete Kay Maxfield, Las Vegas, NV, Kathryn Jim Crump, Salt Lake City, UT, Ken Maxfield, Cedar City, UT and Evan Joanie Maxfield, Tremonton, UT; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers: John, Reid and Keith Melville. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hinckley LDS Ward Chapel, 188 North Main St. Hinckley, UT. Friends may call Monday, January 10, 2011 from 5:00-6:30 pm. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and at the church Tuesday from 11:30 � 12:40 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Delta Cemetery. The family would like to express appreciation to Evan and Joanie and their family for their years of care and service to Lois.
