Margaret Kay Waldron

Tremonton, UT - Margaret Kay Waldron, 91, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Bear River Care Center in Tremonton. She was born August 23, 1918, in East Tremonton, Utah to Abraham and Ellen Nellie Burgin Kay. She married Virgil Calvin Waldron February 14, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before he passed away October 9, 2006. She was a life-long resident of Tremonton. She graduated from Bear River High School, attended Utah State Agricultural College and LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She returned to Tremonton where she worked at J. C. Penney and the U. S. Post Office before her marriage. She returned to work in 1959 at First Security Bank, where she retired as operations officer after 25 years in 1984. She was a member of the Tremonton Second LDS Ward where she faithfully served in many organizations. Margaret and Virgil were called to the Florida Tallahassee Mission in 1986. After returning home, they enjoyed serving as officiators in the Logan Temple for many years. They enjoyed traveling. Favorite trips were to the Holy Land and to England where their ancestors lived before joining the LDS church and coming to Utah. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. No one ever left her home without a treat. She will always be remembered for her annual Christmas party where every member of the family was recognized with a poem recalling a humorous or special event of the year. Everyone received a gift, but her gift of love was the best gift of all. Surviving are her three children: Kaye Firth, Mary Ellen and Clyde Summers, and Craig and Debbie Waldron; 14 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild expected in January. She is also survived by special sisters-in-law: Beth Waite, Joan Waldron, Mabel Showell and a brother-in-law, Dean Showell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers: William Jesse, Glendon and Douglas; one sister, Hazel Koford; son-in-law Boyd Firth; and a great-grandson, Matthew Summers. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Tremonton 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 300 South Tremont St., Tremonton with Bishop Darin Williams officiating. Family and friends may call Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Both visitations will be held at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Bothwell Valley View Cemetery. The family wishes to thank her many care-givers for their tender care and love.
