Marilyn Stenquist Kitchen

Marilyn Stenquist Kitchen was born on July 17, 1930 to Edwin O. and Mary King Stenquist in Bear River City, Utah. She passed away at the Legacy House of Logan on October 19, 2015.
She attended school at Bear River High School in Tremonton, Utah and then graduated from Weber College, receiving her nursing degree while training at the Thomas D. Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
She began her nursing career in LosAngeles, California where she met and married Vernon T. Kitchen in 1953. They lived there for many years while both of them pursued their careers and upon retirement they moved to Oregon City, Oregon. They then decided to move back to Utah and settled in St. George, Utah until her husband's death in 2000. She then decided to come to Logan where most of the family resided.
Marilyn loved the beauties of the earth and especially little children probably because she was unable to have children of her own. The nieces and nephews were always a little apprehensive when Aunt Marilyn came home to Utah because she always gave the kids their medical shots. She served in the Primary as secretary for many years so she could be with the children.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Ileen S. Turner (Leland) and her brother Wayne K. Stenquist (Lavon) both of Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; David, Karl, Bruce, and a sister Darlene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Funeral home, 162 E 400 N in Logan, Utah. A short viewing will be held from 10 a. m. to 10:45 a. m. prior to the service.
A special expression of gratitude goes to Dr Michael J. Stones and “Anna” from Intermountain Home and Hospice Care and all the gracious “angels” at Legacy House who took such loving care of Marilyn.
