Marjorie Weeks Scholes

October 29, 1926 — January 13, 2018

Marjorie Weeks Scholes passed into immortality peacefully on January 13, 2018. She was born October 29, 1926 in Smithfield, Utah. Growing up on the family farm she learned the value of hard work. She attended Cache County Schools, graduating from North Cache High School. Continuing her education at Utah State Agricultural College she graduated with honors.
Through relatives she met her husband, Kay, marrying in the Logan Temple. They spent the next 64 years together doing family history, gardening, camping, visiting family and temple work. She and Kay brought the Cub Scouting program to Smithfield. She was employed as a secretary at the USU Purchasing Department. She was always loving and supportive of family, serving her siblings selflessly for years. Many others were also recipients of her meals. The church was important to her as she served in various callings; officiating in the temple being one of her greatest joys.
She is survived by Alan (Linda), Sidney (Carol), Marjorie K (Blair) Packer, 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Special thanks to Kami of Rocky Mountain Hospice, nurses and staff of Rocky Mountain Care Center, and the neighbors and ward members who helped her.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 3, 2018, preceded by a viewing from 11am to 12:30 pm in the First Ward building at 175 South 100 West, Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to the LDS Perpetual Education fund, Missionary fund, or Humanitarian fund.
