NaDene Hansen Larsen

September 18, 1941 — October 24, 2012

NaDene Hansen Larsen NaDene Hansen Larsen, 71, passed away peacefully October 24th 2012 at Logan Regional Hospital in the arms of her husband and family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 18, 1941 to LaVere Hildt and Ruth Parker Hansen in Pickleville Garden City Utah, in a white house on the hill, the youngest of 3 children. She grew up on her father's sheep and cattle ranch on the west side of Bear Lake. She had wonderful parents who taught her the value of hard work and loving service to all of God's children. She attended local Bear Lake schools and was involved in many activities including choir, orchestra, and was a baton twirler for the North Rich High School Band. She graduated from LDS seminary where she gained an even stronger testimony of the Gospel. She received a scholarship to attend Weber State College and then became a beautician. In 1961, NaDene met her future husband Mel at a 4 stake Gold and Green Ball at Utah State University. After dating daily for six weeks she faithfully waited for two long years while Mel served his mission in England. They were married and sealed in the Logan LDS temple on June 26, 1964. Over the years, Mel and NaDene have had five wonderful children, and nine grandchildren. They have lived in Logan, Fort Leavenworth Kansas, Washington Terrace Ogden, Woods Cross Bountiful, and then came back to Logan. NaDene was very active in the LDS Church throughout her life. She served in many positions in her wards and branches including service in the Logan Temple. She valued her rolls as a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother as priceless. She taught others the priorities of life by her daily example. She showed immense love and compassion for everyone she met. She provided service to the elderly, young, sick, lonely, poor, and neglected. She had a love for the outdoors and spent countless hours in the mountains with her family hiking, picnicking, camping and enjoying the beauties of God's creations. Her family took many vacations to the National Parks as well as almost yearly visits to Hogle Zoo and Lagoon. She was her children's biggest cheerleader at games and musical events. She worked tirelessly everyday to make sure all of her family's needs were met. She is loved by all who know her, and we admire her greatly for her faith, patient endurance, and her capacity to love unconditionally. Her life was a blessing to us all and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Melvin H. Larsen, Logan; five children and their spouses, Sheri Ruth Larsen McCandless Dru, Colorado Springs, Larry Melvin Larsen Jennifer Israelsen, Logan, Stephen Alan Larsen Cindy Meng, Logan, Judy Ann Larsen Sweeten Jesse, Kaysville, and Bryce Lee Larsen Jennifer Minharo, Logan; Brother, Wayne Earl Yvonne Hansen, Wyoming and nine grandchildren, Ryan and Alena McCandless, Tyler, Connor, Wesley, and Clayton Larsen, Sarah, Ashley, and Taylor Sweeten.
