Norman Dale Morris

April 3, 1939 — May 11, 2009

Norman Dale Morris, 70, passed away quietly Monday, May 11, 2009. Norm was born in Globe, Arizona, April 3, 1939 to James and Georgia Morris. He grew up in Long Beach California where he attended Jordan High School. He married Beverly Miller which ended in divorce they had four Children; Kelly, Kris, Konnie, Kirby. Norm later married Carol Handy, who had four children of her own, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They added two more children to the clan, Scott and Brett, bringing it up to an even 10. Norm and Carol will celebrate their 38th anniversary May 22nd. Norman attended Brigham Young Univ. and Univ. of Utah where he earned a Degree in Communications. He received his M.B.A at Webster Univ. He first became a Marketing Director of The Kearns Valley Fair Mall, then the ZCMI Center in Salt Lake City. He then managed several Malls across the United States. One in Corpus Christi, TX., one in New Orleans, LA, three in Wichita, KS. He then took on Various Malls that were depressed, working his magic in bringing them up to successful thriving Malls. Norman finally retired in 2005 after which he and Carol moved to Logan Utah in 2006. Norman was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in just about every calling. Most recently he worked in the Chicago Temple for 8 years and the Logan Temple for two years till he had a stroke. He was an avid genealogist, and loved spending most of his free time at the Family History Centers. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and football, and playing the violin! He is survived by his wife Carol Morris and his children; Kelly, Kris, Konnie, Kirby, Sherilyn deceased, David, Lisa, Lori, Scott and Brett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday May 16, 2009, at the Cliffside 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 1380 E. 25 N. Logan UT. There will be a viewing Friday, May 15th from 7-8:30 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 North, Logan and prior to services on Saturday, May 16th from 9:30 -10:30 am at the Church. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome .
