Ray E Nelson

December 17, 1925 — August 25, 2010

Tremonton, Ray E. Nelson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Bear River Valley Care Center. He was born December 17, 1925 to Earl Ephriam Nelson and Edna Compton in Thatcher, Utah. He married Ethel Blondie Christensen on October 11, 1947 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ray worked for Jay Dee Harris driving truck for many years, but his passion was farming and raising sheep. He enjoyed supporting the Box Elder County Fair and Rodeo with sheep that he raised. He had a strong love of dogs and always had one at his side. He was a devoted grandpa and enjoyed having the grandkids go with him to the farm to help feed the sheep and lambs whenever possible. Ray served in World War II with the Marines and was honorably discharged in 1946. Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ray is survived by his children, Marston Nelson Connie, Vicki Cornia Neil, Sharon Johnson Lee, and Karen Hill Kelly. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday the 28th at 12:00 Noon, in the Bothwell Valley View Cemetery. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10:30 – 11:30 at Rogers and Taylor funeral home, located 111 North 100 East in Tremonton, prior to services at the cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Bear River Valley Care Center for their loving support and care of our Dad. We love you Dad.
