Reid Wakefield Nilson of Smithfield, Utah passed away February 15th, 2015 at the age of 70, surrounded by his family.
Reid was born February 1st, 1945 in Logan, Utah to Miles R. and LaVell Pitcher Nilson. He grew up with four brothers and one sister and enjoyed his youth up Smithfield Canyon. Reid joined the Navy in 1963 and served for four years. When he returned home, he went to work for the Jack B. Parson Company in Smithfield and was a blade operator for 42 years. Reid loved his work and was one of the best.
Reid was married to Margene Hardman for 18 years and they had three sons, Reid is survived by his son, Michael and brothers, Frank (Nancy) Nilson, Keith (Sharon) Nilson, Douglas (Dalice) Nilson and twin Ralph (Melanie) Nilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Irene, a baby brother, sister Iris and her husband Robert Hawkes, and two sons, Johnny and Jason Nilson.
Reid had many friends and close acquaintances. He had a happy disposition and sincerely cared for others. He will be sorely missed.
A graveside services with military honors will be held at noon on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Smithfield Cemetery.
