Richard Mark Bouse

February 21, 1956 — June 3, 2011

R. Mark Bouse Our beloved Richard Mark Bouse leapt into Heaven early in the morning on Friday June 3rd, 2011, after being ill for a couple of days. Mark was born on February 21, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. He was lovingly raised by Janice Maider and George S. Bouse. Growing up in Texas he greatly enjoyed and was heavily involved in outdoor activities such as camping, canoeing, bicycling, playing football, and surfing. At the age of 17 he was in a car accident that severed his spinal cord and left him paralyzed from the neck down. With a zeal for life he met each day with a discipline and determination rarely seen among human kind; for 38 years he pursued work, love, and happiness and found what he was seeking… all from a wheelchair. Each day he would arise at 4:00 a.m. to be in his chair by 8:00 a.m., his life exemplified tenacity, courage, and honor. He was a professional computer programmer that wrote very large code all with a mouth stick. Mark loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served diligently as a Home Teacher, Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School President and as a Sunday School Teacher. He was currently serving in the Primary. He loved his young students and they loved him. Mark helped resolve some of the needs of the disabled by serving as Committee Chairperson for the Disabled and Advisor to the City Council of Houston, Texas. Most important he was a loving Husband, Father, and true friend who would do anything for family, friends, and even people he'd never met. He is survived by his sweetheart and ever dedicated Wife Barbara, Son Nathanael, his Father, Mother, Brother, Nephews, Nieces, and a host of family and friends. He has influenced and changed their lives forever. Special thanks to John Clausen, Marks attendant of nearly 20 years. Mark will be greatly missed. God Bless You Mark and Enjoy Your Run. A Viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Logan at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North. An additional viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 8th at the Mendon Stake Center on 460 South 100 East, Mendon, UT. Dedication of the grave and interment will be performed immediately after the services at the Mendon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in support of Mark's family and to assist with the cost of the funeral would be appreciated; this can be made to the Mark Bouse fund at the USU Credit Union, 198 North Main Street, Logan, Utah or at any of the services.
