Richard Green

February 1, 1937 — June 5, 2011

Tremonton, UT-Richard E. ?Dick? Green, 74, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, educator and friend passed to his Heavenly Father Sunday, June 5, 2011 in Tremonton. He was born February 1, 1937 in Tremonton to Evan D. and Norma Harris Green, the 3rd of 5 children, coming minutes after his twin brother Bob. He is survived by his sister Carol Fred Rucker, brothers Bob Joanne, Steven Kathy and Roger Karen Green. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Gibbs, April 12, 1957 in the Logan LDS Temple. Their marriage of 54 years was full of love and service to their 2 children Jamie Kelvin Findlay and Hunter Tammy Green. He increased his love of sports as an athlete at Bear River High. He excelled in baseball, football, basketball and track. He furthered this love by choosing a career in education, with a Masters Degree at USU, teaching and coaching at Bear River High for 38 years. Highlights of his career were receiving the Bear River High School Outstanding Alumnus Award and the UHSAA Super Fan Award. These years gave him the opportunity to make many cherished friends.
Dick was a High Priest in the Tremonton 6th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed serving in the Bishopric and being a faithful home teacher. His heart knew the love of the Savior and he exemplified His teachings throughout his life.
Surviving are his wife, children, 9 grandchildren: Kellee Brady Hunsaker, Kasey, Shandee, Baylee and Dixon Green; Clarissa, Avenlea, Carlisle and McKay Findlay and 1 great grandson Emmitt Hunsaker. Dick?s hobbies included hunting and fishing but was happiest when supporting his Family. Whether he was watching a ball game, listening to a church talk or song, reading a missionary letter or pondering his deep family love?these things made him very happy and proud. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center 660 N. 300 E. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E. and Thursday at the church from 9:30-10:40 a.m. Interment will follow at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
