Richard Paul Nielsen

January 28, 1943 — June 24, 2011

Richard Paul Nielsen, age 68 of Paradise, Utah, returned to his loving Heavenly Father on June 24, 2011. He died after a short battle with Cancer at Logan Regional Hospital. Richard was born on January 28, 1943 in Logan, Utah, to Paul Aubrey Nielsen and Eunice Ann Peart. Richard graduated from South Cache High School. He earned his degree from Utah State University in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning. He also achieved a secondary degree in Art. Richard served in the Northern Mexico Mission in 1962. Upon returning from his mission, he met his sweetheart, Connie Sue Smith. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 29, 1966. Richard is survived by his spouse: Connie Sue Smith Nielsen, his 12 children: Scott Amiee McPherson, Chris Mindy Thornton, Andria, Phil Petterborg, Aaron Natanya Crane, Jeff Steph Harris, Kendall Heather Ruggles, Erick Nicki Anderson, Jared Lindsay Haslam, Maria Nic LaRocco, Amy Alex Brown, Randy Jenny Christensen, Landon, his 32 grandchildren with 4 more on the way and 2 great grand children, his 4 Siblings: David Galina Genova, Judith, deceased Bill & Janeen Erickson Annette Carl Mattson, Michael Lori Mitchell, Joseph Sandy Brewster. Richard was preceded in death by his Parents: Paul Aubrey Nielsen and Eunice Ann Peart, his Sister: Judith Nielsen Erickson and his niece Rachel Ann Nielsen.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, and on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Paradise 2nd Ward, 9060 South 200 West , funeral services will follow. Burial will be at the Paradise Cemetery.
