Robert Cardon Lamb passed away in his sleep and into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on October 6, 2014.
Robert was born on January 8th 1933, in Logan, Utah to Frank and Helen Lamb of Hyde Park, Utah. In March of 1953 he joined the army to serve in the Korean War. It was during a nine-day furlough, that he married Janice Marriot from Trenton, Utah on August 18, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Robert attended Utah State University earning a bachelor degree in Dairy Production then attended Michigan State University earning a Master of Science and a Ph.D. majoring in Dairy Cattle Breeding and minoring in genetics and statistics. He served as the Acting Head and the Head of the Department of Animal and Veterinary Science at Utah State University from 1988 through 1998. His contributions were numerous; he received many awards throughout his career and was well respected in his field.
Robert was extremely approachable and willing to talk to all those who sought his advice. He provided encouragement to strive for lofty achievements, cheering successes, and sharing in disappointments. He truly showed the pure love of Christ in the way he treated all those who came in contact with him.
He willingly gave of his time and talents as he served in many positions in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and Janice also served a mission together in Bremerton Washington in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife Janice, and their five children; Kaylene Lindley Greg, Laurie Rood Clair, Michael Lamb Michele, Randy Lamb Debra, and Jeffrey Lamb Natalie. His legacy continues through the lives of his 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lucille.
Robert will be truly missed and will be remembered as a sweet, soft-spoken, and loving man.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E 400 N. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 11th, at 12 p.m. with an additional visitation an hour and a half prior to the service at the Logan 8th Ward Chapel, 325 Lauralin Drive. Interment immediately following in the Logan Cemetery with military honors.
