Mesa, AZ - Robert R. Roberts, 71, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, after a short bout with cancer. He was born March 26, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Donald R. and Elizabeth Rich Roberts. He married Gaela Giles, October 12, 1961 in Tremonton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Bob lived his early years in Ogden, attending Lewiston Elementary, Central Jr. High, and graduated from Ogden High in 1959. He attended Weber State College then completed his degree at Utah State University in 1961. He worked for the Boeing Company and Sunset Sporting Goods prior to moving to Mesa, AZ. In Mesa, he owned and operated Custom Care Swimming Pools for 30 years then retiring to enjoy his family and the simple things in life. Bob was a member of the LDS Church. Bob had a simple, genuine love and interest in people. He took great pleasure in serving his fellow man with integrity, honesty, and dependability. We will all miss his wit, his charm, and his gift of gab.
He is survived by his wife Gaela; daughter, Roberta Michael Crawley, Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Spencer Crawley, Tokyo, Japan; Jessie Alvaro Cervantes, San Diego, CA; Amanda Hiram Dominguez, Chandler, AZ; Hannah Reed Crawley, Gilbert; one great-grandson, Daniel Dominguez. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Alta Mesa LDS Stake Center.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 1:00 p.m. at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
