Sandra Rae Swenson Everton

March 15, 1938 — August 19, 2013

Sandra Rae Swenson Everton was the light of our lives. She passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at home with her loving husband by her side. She was born March 15, 1938 to Alan and Elaine Swenson in Logan, Utah. She spent her early years in Nibley, Utah being a tomboy, climbing trees and playing in the Blacksmith Fork River. She attended South Cache High School and graduated in 1956. She also attended Utah State. After high school, she worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell. She met Richard Everton at the Cache County Fair in 1957. They were married a year later in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity, and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. Together, they have raised four talented and loving daughters. Sandra was an excellent cook and will be remembered for sharing her homemade apple pies during the holidays. She had two green thumbs. She loved to garden, always growing beautiful flowers. Her yard was adored by many. She sewed many outfits and dresses for her daughters, and then for her grandchildren. She won awards in all of these areas. She worked for the University Food Service for many years, where she was Mom to many students. She and Dick loved to travel to many places with their friends. She served valiantly in many church callings, including Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and recently as Cookie Grandma in the Nursery. She also served alongside her husband as a Temple Officiator for many years in the Logan Temple. Her favorite callings were being a mother, as well as a grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Richard K. Everton, and their daughters Wendi Terry Naylor of Providence, Angie Dan Farnsworth of Nibley, Dayna Wes Johnson of Logan, Kim Paul Hansen of Kaysville as well as her brothers Bill Betsy Swenson of River Heights, Mike Darien Swenson of Nibley, Jerry Susan Swenson of Logan, Paul Riley brother-in-law of Logan, and her loving dog, Daphany. Funeral Services will be at noon Friday, August 23rd at the North Logan 1st Ward Chapel 1105 E 2100 North in North Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 22nd at the Nelson Funeral Home 162 E 400 North in Logan and from 10:30-11:30 at the chapel on the day of the services. Interment will be at the Logan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the LDS Missionary Fund.
