Susan Gay Kimball Mattson

July 22, 1940 — December 21, 2009

Susan Gay Kimball Mattson, 69, passed away peacefully December 21, 2009 at her home in Garden City, Utah. Susan was born July 22, 1940 to Les and Ruth Kimball. She was raised in the Bear Lake Valley and attended school in Paris, Idaho. Susan met and married Stanley Otto Mattson of Meadowville, Utah. Susan and Otto had two sons: Michael B. Mattson and Robert O. Mattson. Susan enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful yard. She also enjoyed watching Bear Lake and painted beautiful paintings of the lake and surrounding areas. In 1980, Susan returned to school and received her High School Diploma. At this time she also earned her Brokers License and began her own real estate company-Old West Reality. She and Otto made great friends through the company. Otto passed away in June of 1998 and Susan continued to run the business on her own. Susan's health started to decline and eventually she retired from the real estate business. Susan is survived by Michael B. Mattson of Laketown, Utah; his son, Chris Karamie; Robert O. Kathleen Mattson of Hyrum, Utah and their sons: Nick, Brian, Court, and Bradley. She is also survived by her sister Penny Dave Grant; brothers Todd Mary Evelyn Kimball, Terry June Kimball; and sister-in-law Lorrane Kimball Kent deceased. Susan is preceded in death by her parents Les and Ruth Kimball; her brother Kent and her husband Stanley Otto Mattson. Visitation services for Susan will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah.
