Salt Lake City/Tremonton ? Wanda Rose Carrie Lawson Nelson, 88, passed away June 21, 2009 at the Highland Care Nursing Home in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born July 13, 1920 in Crescent, UT to Jesse Quivington and Elizabeth Mary Moore Lawson. She was reared and educated in Roosevelt. Wanda married Verl Asa Nelson August 2, 1941 in Vernal, UT and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. She and her husband Verl owned and operated Verl?s Auto Service in Tremonton for nearly 40 years. Wanda was active in PTA for many years. Wanda enjoyed quilting, handwork, gardening, cooking and won many blue ribbons at the Box Elder County Fair. She was a member of the Tremonton 6th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She is survived by her children: daughters; Diana Dr. Robert Wray, Toni Del Geddes, and son Craig Nelson all of Salt Lake City, UT, six grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Verl on December 22, 1999 and all 14 of her brothers and sisters. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 12:00 Noon at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery, 1200 South 100 East, Tremonton, UT with Dr. Robert Wray officiating. Friends may call Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 10:30 ? 11:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 North 100 East Tremonton, UT prior to the graveside services. The family wishes to express appreciation to the Highland Care Center for their kindness and devoted care of Wanda.
