Carol Lynn Hunsaker passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home on May 27 2025. She was born February 1st 1935 in Garland Utah. She was the 5th child of Arthur Dean Capener and Dorothy Muriel Norman. She was raised on her father’s farm and graduated from Bear River High School.
She married Kenneth Burnice Hunsaker on June 12th 1953 in the Hawaii Temple while he was stationed in Hawaii serving in the Navy. In October, Ken got his orders to sail to Korea, so Carol Lynn returned home. While Ken was finishing his Naval service, Carol Lynn attended Utah State University. The couple then lived in Tremonton and later moved to Logan while Ken attended Utah State University. In 1959 the now family of 5 moved to Pennsylvania for Ken to attend Penn State in order to get his PhD in English. While there, child number 4 was born which gave her 4 children under 7 years old. After two years at Penn State they moved back to Logan where Ken started teaching at USU.
In 1964 the now family of 7 moved to the home on 10th North in Logan where Carol Lynn lived the remainder of her years. She bore one more child while there, making a total of 6 children: 5 boys and 1 girl. After being a homemaker, she started working as a secretary at Mt. Logan Middle School in 1982. She liked to travel and she made several trips across the Atlantic, visiting places like England, Israel and Russia.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served faithfully in her many church callings and was a faithful visiting teacher. She loved music and especially sacred hymns. She sang in the Relief Society choir (Singing Mothers), and sang in the ward choir for over 25 years. She found a passion for service, and would adopt widows of the ward to befriend and serve. In 2001 She and Ken were called as missionaries to work in the Logan employment office for a year. In 2003, Ken and Carol Lynn started working as officiators in the Logan Temple. After 55 years of marriage, in 2008, the love of her life, Ken, passed away. After that, Carol Lynn continued her temple service until just a few short weeks before her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ken, and a grandson Michael Hunsaker, as well as two older sisters and two older brothers.
