Charles Reed Wimmer

August 16, 1924 — May 24, 2013

Charles Reed Wimmer
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on May 24, 2013 at the age of 88, from natural causes at George E. Wahlen Veterans home in Ogden, Utah. He was born to Acel and Dora Wimmer in Logan, Utah on August 16, 1924. He had four brothers Rex, Paul, Don, and Wayne and four sisters Alene, Emma, Opal, and Doreen.
He married Barbara Facer on January 6, 1943 in Malad, Idaho and later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Thanks Mutt Brown. From this union came four children DeeAnn, Randy, Robert, and Leslie.
Reed was in the Army Air Corps, served in England in World War II, and in an Artillery Unit in the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal service for twenty seven years and then retired. Reed enjoyed going to Quartzsite, Arizona for the winter for over twenty five years, where he and Barbara made many treasured friends.
He enjoyed fishing with his wife and working in the yard, planting trees and then cutting them down. He loved his family first and foremost. We love you and miss you, until we meet again. A viewing for family and close friends will be held at 2 PM to 2:45 PM Wednesday, May 29 at Nelsen Funeral Home located at 85 South Main Street Smithfield, Utah. Grave side services will be at the Smithfield Cemetery at 3 PM Wednesday, May 29. Located at 300 East Center Smithfield Utah
