Connie Paskett, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on June 27, 2025, surrounded by her family, following complications from a stroke.
Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering devotion to family and faith touched the lives of all who knew her.
Connie was born on April 10, 1946, in Coalville, Utah, to Douglas and Melba Thackeray. She was the oldest of six children and was raised in Morgan, Utah.
She married Michael Paskett on August 31, 1967, in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children, including a stillborn son. For 58 years, they built their lives together, spending the majority of that time in Smithfield, Utah.
Connie enjoyed her profession as a nurse and worked in various capacities. She and Mike served in the Massachusetts Boston Mission, where she was the mission nurse.
She was happiest when serving her family and those around her through quiet acts of kindness. Connie served faithfully in many callings. Some of her favorites included working with the Young Women and serving in the Logan Temple as an officiator. Her faith was not just something she believed in—it was something she lived, daily and quietly.
Connie was very active and loved being outdoors, whether it was camping, gardening, walking, or simply sitting on her bench in the backyard, where she could often be found reading. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest delight.
She is survived by four sisters and one brother; her husband; and four children: Natalie (Lane) Straatman of Young Ward; David (Sheila) Paskett of Center, Colorado; Mindy (Jarom) Bergeson of Cedar City, Utah; and Wesley (Jennifer) Paskett of Preston, Idaho. She has 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her baby (Chad), and a sister.
